<p>التقت الأمين العام لمجلس التعليم العالي الدكتورة ديانا عبدالكريم الجهرمي بوفد زائر من جامعة جورج واشنطن الأمريكية، بحضور الأستاذ الدكتور عبدالله يوسف الحواج رئيس مجلس أمناء الجامعة الأهلية، والأستاذ الدكتور منصور العالي رئيس الجامعة الأهلية. </p> <p> </p> <p>وأكدت الأمين العام حرص مجلس التعليم العالي برئاسة سعادة الدكتور محمد بن مبارك جمعة وزير التربية والتعليم رئيس مجلس أمناء المجلس على دعم برامج مؤسسات التعليم العالي المستضافة مع الجامعات العالمية المرموقة وفق الأطر التنظيمية المتبعة. </p> <p> </p> <p>ومن جانبه، استعرض الوفد آخر المستجدات ذات الصلة بمخرجات برنامج الماجستير في الادارة الهندسية التابع لجامعة جورج واشنطن الأمريكية والمستضاف في الجامعة الاهلية، بالإضافة إلى مناقشة الخطط التطويرية للبرنامج وعدد من البرامج الأخرى التي تقدمها الجامعة. </p> <p> </p> <p>حضر اللقاء مدراء الإدارات في الأمانة العامة لمجلس التعليم العالي بالإضافة إلى عدد من المختصين من الجهتين.</p>
<p>Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health, attended the graduation ceremony of the Arabian Gulf University for the academic year 2023/2024, at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, where the ceremony witnessed the graduation of 279 students, including 182 male and female graduates of the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, and 97 male and female graduates of the College of Graduate Studies.</p> <p>On this occasion, His Excellency the President of the Supreme Council of Health praised the active and vital role played by the Arabian Gulf University in providing the health system in the Kingdom of Bahrain with medical cadres, which contributes to achieving the visions and aspirations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, as the university has contributed since its establishment in 1980 to the graduation of 3527 doctors. And a doctor who contributed to the development of the health care system in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, His Excellency also praised in a related way the symbolism of the Arabian Gulf University, which embodies </p>
Today we are on the threshold of a new phase in which knowledge, Information and communication Technology are expanding rapidly, and the development patterns and production methods, and ways of life are changing as well. It is no longer possible that we stand idly on what is happening in front of our eyes every day. Every hour of progress is amazing. Our destiny is to be a part of this advanced world, to participate positively in the making of the future, especially since knowledge has become the most important element of economic growth and the standard of living , and therefore there must be a comprehensive and effective plan to raise the quality and performance of the institutions of higher education , and develop a common policy for Science and Technology , that supports research and training of human resources and creating channels of communication with local, regional and international partners and the private sector.

The HEC's mandate is three-fold: improving the performance of universities, monitoring and evaluating provision, and regulating new study programmes. The HEC is concerned with university affairs in various aspects– administrative, scientific, research and students– which include the preparation of the general policy for higher education and scientific research, creating regulations regarding the admission of students to institutions of higher education as well as proposing amendments to the laws and regulations of higher education in light of the development of the general policies in the Kingdom, and issuing regulations and resolutions organizing the academic, financial and administrative affairs with respect to higher education. Furthermore, it sets the terms and criteria for the licensing of different types of higher education institutions including private higher education institutions, prepares annual reports on higher education performance issued by higher education institutions and competent governmental authorities, recommends appropriate remedies for such performance and actions for its development, prepares annual reports for the cabinet on higher education and scientific research status with relevant recommendations and promoting private investment in higher education.
