Tasks and Responsibilities

• The Academic Services Directorate is one of the departments affiliated with the Assistant Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council Office in the General Secretariat which undertakes the following tasks and responsibilities:
• Monitoring and auditing higher education institutions to ensure compliance with the regulations and decisions related to the directorate tasks and duties.
• Studying the applications of private higher education institutions for the formation of boards of trustees and the appointment of leadership positions and submit reports thereon.
• Study the applications of private higher education institutions related to the appointment, renewal of an appointment and abolition of the appointment of faculty members and the issuance of statements regarding them
• Studying the private higher education institutions applications related to the publication of advertisements and holding events and issuing approval statements if they are fulfilled
• Issuing attestation certificates of scientific qualifications issued by private higher education institutions and attestation of transcripts and various students’ statements.
• Issuing certificates verifying the validity of the academic qualification to respond to requests received by the general secretariat of higher education Council in this regard
• Studying and following up complaints, appeals and petitions received from students of higher education institutions or their graduates
• Follow-up on the admission and preparation of new students in higher education institutions and monitoring on the work of student councils as well as alumni affairs
• Implementation of initiatives and projects related to the Directorate tasks and duties included in the strategic and operational plans of the general secretariat of the Higher Education Council
